Job seekers looking to learn more about the tech and get introduced to companies with strong DEI initiatives

As part of Therefore's push to build a community of Black & Latinx job seekers, we started hosting weekly webinars to highlight companies focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). These webinars would:

  • Highlight 3 companies with directives in the DEI space. We would include their current metrics and goals for the year.

  • Act as a lead-gen for our sales teams. After each webinar was finished, we would publish the webinars and content to LinkedIn tagging the companies and their executives.

  • Serve to keep our job seekers engaged. We would wrap the company spotlights with additional helpful content for the job search on topics like "Intro to startup fundraising", "Negotiation compensation", and more.

To build these decks, I created an initial template in Figma which allowed our fantastic ops team (Lillie Leone and Heidi Tirkkonen) to come in and add additional content weekly. I would jump in every week to add any new visuals or clean up designs.

Outcome & reflection

We ran these webinars for 5 weeks. In each week, we featured 3 new companies focused on DEI practices or have succeeded in implementing them. In the end, all 15 companies turned into conversations on socials (Twitter & LinkedIn) or into the funnel for our sales team. It was a fantastic mechanism to get Therefore's brand out there and boost sales pipeline.

Skillsets used

  • Working closely with ops team to deliver templates for visual presentations in Figma

  • Create marketing and social collateral for sales team to post on LinkedIn and Twitter.

  • Manage LinkedIn and Twitter accounts to track clicks and acquisition
